Shai Gold is the Managing Partner of International-Triage, LLC a Caribbean Region TPA and Network. He is also the Caribbean Region Manager of ASUIA, Limited, an affiliated, General Underwriter Agent, for international medical & travel insurance and re-insurance solutions.
Shai is former Director of Strategic Planning, Business Development and Acquisitions of the Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida (www.jmhmiami.org). In that capacity, he was a key member of a turnaround team that changed the performance, organizational culture and bottom-line of a 3.5 billion dollar, integrated, public-teaching, healthcare delivery system. Jackson Health System employs some 10,000 FTEs and consists of 3-hospitals, 1800 acute care beds, primary and specialty care clinics, 2-nursing homes, 4-dialysis centers and the first Medicaid HMO in the USA.
As Vice President and founder of the International Medical Services Department of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Shai’s dynamic personality and innovative business strategies, resulted in the emergence of one of the most successful international patient programs in the world. Shai re-defined international payer relations and marketing of international medical services. His positioned Jackson Memorial Hospital as “The Trauma Center of the Caribbean” and was instrumental in altering referral patterns of the medical community and insurance industry in the Caribbean and Latin American regions.
In 2010, Shai “changed sides” and established International-Triage, LLC, a pioneering regional TPA & Network for Caribbean Insurers & governments whose ability to access medical care in the USA has been adversely impacted by limited benefit plans and/or visa restrictions.
The Company’s alliance with ASUIA, LTD offers governments in the Caribbean Region, uniquely effective network and insurance solutions for off-island medical treatment needs of citizens and foreign workers. The company’s network consists of some 15 centers-of-excellence in Panama, Costa-Rica, Colombia, Bahamas and Venezuela. Additionally, the company offers medical assistance and medical case-management services.
Shai write a blog about medical care overseas on www.Travel4Health.com, and is the host of the “Global Medical Village” a weekly talk-show on the Overseas radio Network (www.OverseasRadio.com). He is also the co-author of “How to Plan a Successful Medical Tourism Trip”. Shai graduated from Florida International University, College of Business and holds a BBA degree in Management and International Business.
